Hurricane Harvey Support and Solidarity

Hurricane Harvey is being described as an historic weather event. But for those living in the impacted area, it is so much more.

To show our support and solidarity for our brothers and sisters impacted by Hurricane Harvey, the American Jail Association will donate 100% of new membership dues, or 50% of membership renewal dues, to aid in helping jail staff in their recovery efforts. AJA will extend this offer between now and October 31, 2017.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the men and women who work in jails in the affected areas and who must deal with this catastrophic event, on a professional and personal level,” said AJA President John Johnson of the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. “We are undertaking this effort to show our support and appreciation for all that they do in this difficult time and to let them know that we, as an organization, stand behind them.”

The American Jail Association is a not-for-profit organization that supports the men and women who work in and operate our Nation’s jails. Formed in 1983, AJA is headquartered in a Washington, D.C. suburb in Maryland.
